Armonelle was born from a simple frustration: the raw silk kese glove — used in Turkish hammams for over 600 years — was impossible to find in its authentic form outside of Turkey. What was available in Western markets was either synthetic, poorly made, or stripped of the technique that made it effective.

We traced the tradition back to its source. To the artisan families in Istanbul who have woven single-thread raw silk kese gloves for three generations. To the ancient Aleppo soap makers who still cold-process their soap with laurel berry oil using 3,000-year-old methods. To the peshtemal weavers of Denizli whose flat-woven towels have dried hammam-goers since the Ottoman era.
